Event Details

Whether you are presenting at a conference; negotiating with clients, managing your team or networking at functions, public speaking with confidence is essential to your success.

Most people are unable to say what they do in less than 90 seconds. 74% professionals say they lose interest in a presentation in the first minute if no clear point is made.

You can have a brilliant idea and be part of a bustling business, yet you will not succeed if you cannot inspire and influence people through your spoken word.

Join this six-week, highly interactive course and prepare to stand out from the crowd. This program is purposeful and participative and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the attendees, if necessary. Each class runs for one hour with an additional 30-minute optional workshop following each session.

You will form part of a small group of people ( maximum 10) to challenge yourself in a safe, supportive environment with multiple opportunities to practice your new skills in a fun and interactive way.

You will walk away with the skills, confidence, and ability to:

  • Communicate clearly, concisely and compellingly
  • Speak in public with purpose and ease
  • Articulate your business message powerfully and memorable
  • Build interest and engagement with storytelling
  • Explain what you do succinctly and effortlessly

Week One: How you speak is more important than what you say

Week Two: Networking for success

Week Three: Selling yourself and your idea/s

Week Four: Build credibility through storytelling

Week Five: Upfront and in control

Week Six: Stage presence

Free for all IC members & USC students. $35 per session or $150 for the full series.

Our Faciltatior

Robyn Pulman  |    Expert in Residence, Innovation Centre

I love helping people present with impact and to feel comfortable and confident communicating in any situation.

Many decades ago, as an ambitious 27 year old, I was told by the VP of Marriott Hotels that unless I mastered the art of speaking in public, my career was significantly threatened. That comment followed him witnessing me make an absolute mess of a presentation I gave to the General Managers and Financial Controllers of the Marriott Hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa – the region I was responsible for marketing.

I chose that day to do whatever it took to feel confident and comfortable speaking in public
– every master was once a disaster.
