COBY SULLIVAN – REFLECTING ON MARCH’S OPEN HOUSE EVENT
Once again, local entrepreneurs, innovative thinkers and business professionals gathered for a night of networking at the Innovation Centre’s monthly Open House event. The March get together included some special announcements from the Sunshine Coast Regional Innovation Program (SCRIPT). We launched the new #SCRIPT innovations and programs pathways brochure and announced the delegates who had successfully been appointed to represent the Sunshine Coast region at the upcoming QODE Festival. QODE is a major new event held in Brisbane at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, celebrating and showcasing Queensland’s best entrepreneurs and innovative leaders and SCRIPT had the opportunity to proudly sponsor a handful of local representatives – who would receive a complimentary pass and accommodation to the jam-packed two-day festival. Coby Sullivan, Regional Innovation Coordinator announced that the deserving recipients included: Tasha Lawton from Talk Revolution, David White from IOTIQ, John Lowe and James Hopkins from Data MC, Brad Chesham from Bundle of Rays, Kerry Neill from Goombuckar Creations and Daniel McKinnon from OMA. Coby also touched on her recent experience on the Startup Catalyst mission to the USA, where she was fortunate enough to visit some of the leading incubator and accelerator programs and meet with venture capitalists across Colorado and California. Inspired and enlightened, Coby has shared her key takeaways from the trip in a recent article, The Secret Sauce Behind Colorado’s Startup Success, for those who wish to read more. This particular Open House event also included special media coverage from View News. They interviewed local innovators planning on attending QODE to learn more about their business and their motivations behind going to the innovative conference. As always, the event was beautifully catered and allowed passionate and ambitious people from across the Sunshine Coast to make new connections and catch up with old ones.
